THE COLLAB – START OF PARTNERSHIP

My wife and I decided to build the idea of starting the Tea shop business with our partner.

It was just this morning, while I’m waiting for my wife to come out of the bathroom, I told her that I will schedule a meeting with soon to be business partner, Jack, to discuss and layout the “plan” I have in mind. But before that conversation with my wife, I’m starting to daydream again about the business, the business I want to put all my effort and talent.

Then I ask Jack the famous tagline in opening business opportunity – “Open minded ka ba sa business?”. That line is always the introduction for those who is offering their business to someone. But what I’m asking to our “hopefully” business partner (Jack) is to invest with me and be our partner in creating our shop.

Jack of Ol’ trades

As the name insist, really Jack is the jack of o’l trade. He’s good in making things very organized. We called him “Papa Jack”, we got it from the famous radio station’s DJ and announcer. But we are not using it now, it is unprofessional. Jack is very neat, from the dress he wear to his workstation he is using. So he’s a very good choice to become a partner for a food business because I see him as a good keeper of cleanliness and with his set of skill in designing we can save money for interior arrangements. We have the advantage on him because he shared to us his dream of owning a food shop (Tapsi, Chicken Wings, Milk tea), so I hope on our meeting we can get his “YES”.

Ready to Leave?

I’m currently employed by a local manufacturer of 3D printer. If you don’t have any idea what is a 3d printer, it is the action or process of making a physical object from a three-dimensional digital model. I’m with the company for 1 year and 7 months, the longest industry employer I worked with (3 years in Academe). In my perspective, as a Technical Support, the company is struggling with sales (I’m not in liberty to discuss any further … line from the Netflix series Designated Survivor). So, to save our source of income, I’m getting ready to leave the company and look for another company. This time, I will go back to my field, the IT-“namaan ng magaling”. But as I and my wife are praying for the Lord’s leading, He showed us a possibility that maybe it is not in the industry field that I will achieve our dream salary, maybe it is the business.

Partially “YES”

Our meeting happened November 30, 2019 at a local Tea drink shop.

Jack accepted our offer but we didn’t close our deal yet as we both have considerations before we start. Jack’s brother, as I mentioned on my first post, owned a milk tea shop. So, he need to have an agreement and understanding that if he will joins us, both of them will not be a direct competitor by establishing on a location that is near with each other.

I offered Jack my resignation from my current work. I proposed half of our(wife) house to use for the location but it will depend on the plan of the government’s road widening project that hopefully will start on January 2020 (we are located alongside the main road). Of course, we both consider the money we will invest on our business. We planned to loan on the bank amounting to the half of budget we divided to ourselves from the target money investment. I wished for his commitment that when we start, we will give our effort to the business and he positively responded. Trusting each other that even we will fail on our first joint business I guarantee him that I will help him to recover and the business will not run without one side’s consent.

So I might stop writing from this topic until every considerations favored to us. We will start praying for these and as Lord’s leading for His glory!

THE EMBLEM

It’s logo making. The company or brand logo is important. It represents the company’s product or service. It is the face of the organization for recognition and sometimes also use to advertise.

Classy? or Minimalist?

The problem in creating a logo is making it unique and interesting without losing the element resembling the objective of the company.

If you look in the first version of the logo I made, the element of teacup in perspective view is there. There’s also a Tapioca, in our local place we called it as “sago” – it is the soft rounded, sweet jelly-like, that we used as bullet during our childhood war, submerged in a sweetened drink (dissolve washed sugar), the representation of HOT. We called this type of logo as a Combination mark. So it wasn’t simple, I used three colors and too many elements. Combination of two font to emphasize the word “Tea”. I want it more classy. What is the best ingredient to make a minimalist type of logo? Like a one silhouette logo but all the things I want to show can be expressed. I think I need to check other logos on the internet. Idea.. idea.. idea.

ChrisTeanity – Logo draft version 2

My second idea of the business logo. I’ve created many logos for my friends but making your own logo is not easy. For this one, I remained on using the two logo (Satturday Collection for “Chris” & “nity” and Cold Climate for “Tea”) this time I tried to incorporate the silhouette of Bible by using a ribbon bookmark and half face of a tea cup, I guess there’s no other good representation of a tea but a tea cup, anyway it could also a coffee who knows we will include coffee on our menu. Right now I’m crafting my third logo and hopefully one of this will be approve by my partners.

ChrisTeanity – Logo draft version 3

This third version of logo shows a coffee bean to resemble that the company is also offering hot and cold coffee drinks aside from the sub line located in the lower part. The main symbol in this logo is the tea bag with all elements and the name of the business inside. I’m still using the same font I used from the beginning. Well, this will become one of the options.

This fourth version of the logo is more elegant and simple. The tea bag and string served as the ribbon that is usually found on Bible as bookmark. Two coffee bean to represent other drinks the we will offer. I hope you got the meaning of the logo.
